The Librarian of Unseen University was once a human wizard who was transformed into an
orangutanGigantopithecus by a magical accident, and he has since refused all offers to be changed back, finding his new form perfectly suited to the demands of his profession. He is fiercely protective of his books and maintains order in the Library through a combination of encyclopedic knowledge and surprising physical strength, communicating primarily through variations of “Ook” and occasionally “Eek.” Despite his unconventional appearance, he is a respected member of the university staff who enjoys a good banana, has a library card for every library in the multiverse, and will respond with swift violence to anyone who calls him a monkey. 2 ↩ -
